Tucking Mill Annexe - Newly renovated

Bath Self-catering, a Rare Combination of Rural and City

Tucking Mill Annexe is some 5 minutes away from High Beeches and exactly 2.9 miles (15 mins by car) from Bath Railway Bus Station and the new Southgate Shopping Centre via Summer Lane. Access to the Limpley Stoke Valley, Bath University and Bath Spa University, Monkton Combe and Prior Park Schools, the MOD and indeed Bath Clinic is only 10 mins by car. It is rare to be so rural yet so close to the city centre.

Directly overlooking the glorious Midford Valley, the little known hamlet of Tucking Mill lies between the villages of Monkton Combe and Midford and is a veritable haven of calm. Situated on the site of the old Somerset Coal Canal, the area provides many delightful walks and is on the Sustrans cycle route No 24 which goes from the Dundas Aqueduct through the mining villages ending in Frome. Two of Bath’s renowned country pubs are a 10 minute walk along the country lanes.

Newly renovated, the luxurious yet comfortable annexe offers English Tourism 4-star rated accommodation for 2/3/4 with a double/twin bed in the master bedroom and a separate sofa bed in the sitting room area.

The focal point of the sitting room area is an electric ‘wood-burning’ stove, with Freeview TV/DVD and WiFi and a dining area. There is a shower room with WC, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven etc. Egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels are provided.

The Annexe is entirely self-contained with separate access and parking and overlooks the extensive grounds of Tucking Mill Manor. As the accommodation is totally independent you are free to come and go as you please. Guests have exclusive use of the patio area adjacent to the annexe which overlooks the rose garden and the rest of the Manor gardens.

A welcome basket with ingredients for a continental breakfast is provided.

Cyclists, walkers, culture vultures, relaxers and children over 12 all welcome. Regrettably the premises are not suitable for the less able and much as we love them, no pets due to local wildlife. We currently have some Indian runner ducks mingling with our mallards and hopefully the fox will spare them.

Facilities are available for bicycle and wet weather gear storage.

The rate including welcome basket for 2 people is £98 and for 3-4 persons £130. Minimum two nights.

Tucking Mill itself is of significant historic interest being the home of the Father of English Geology, William Smith, who lived in the house opposite the Annexe and was inspired to do his Map of the World by the local rock formations of Jurassic rocks.
