How to find High Beeches in Bath

M5/M4 Directions
Here are some good directions avoiding going through BATH if you are coming in on the M5/M4. This is a very good way for you to get to us avoiding Bath but it might be a bit busy during rush hour. Turn off M4 at Junction 19 marked M32 Bristol/ A4174 Ring Road. Follow signs to RING ROAD A4174 which will take you all the way round to the A4 (through many roundabouts) which you will join past LONGWELL GREEN. Then head down the A4 towards Keynsham, Saltford, Bath. Having gone through Saltford you will hit a large roundabout, take second exit signposted to COMBE DOWN and Park & Ride. You are now about 4 miles away from us ! This takes you up Pennyquick & Whiteway Road leading in to Rush Hill. Follow this road up and down, passing Haycombe Cemetry and Culverhay School both on your right, through another mini roundabout bearing left (car wash/valet on your left). Then go through a set of lights before another roundabout with the Red Lion Pub on your right, going straight over (2nd exit marked B3110/B3062). At the next double roundabout take third exit signposted B3110 Frome, Midford on to MIDFORD ROAD with Tesco Express/Esso Garage on your right and head down the road passing the Cross Keys pub on your left. After about 200 metres take the first right turning up a bumpy track called CRANLEIGH driving nearly to the top and turning left by the new five bar wooden gate.

We are 90 metres down the small lane on the left with light green garage door and the sign HIGH BEECHES and secure parking. This will bring you in to the back of the house where you will be greeted or walk through back gate and ring the bell on the back of the conservatory door.

Directions from M4 coming through Bath
From M4 take junction 18 then A46 signposted to Bath. After about 8 miles come off the dual carriageway (signposted Bath) and at roundabout follow signs right to Bath, then following signs A36 Bristol turn left at first traffic lights after Morrisons supermarket and over the river Avon, past the fire station on your left. At traffic lights fork right at the Crown pub, still following A36 Bristol. Follow road for about 0.75 mile then at the White Hart pub turn (second) left into Prior Park Road (signposted Combe Down). Drive 1.1 mile and turn right at crossroads into North Road. After 0.9 mile turn left onto Southstoke Road. At the crossroads turn left into Midford Road. You then take the first right after about 200 mtrs turning up a bumpy track called CRANLEIGH driving nearly to the top but taking the first left again by the new five bar wooden gate.

Directions from M3/A303/A36/B3110
This is the best approach from London.
Head away from London on the M3, then after Basingstoke take the A303. About 5 miles after Winterbourne Stoke, take the A36 (signposted Warminster). Keep following the A36 and, after about 25 miles, at Wolverton take the B3110 through Norton St Philip, Hinton Charterhouse and Midford. After Midford the road climbs a steep windy hill. At the top it levels out and High Beeches is on the left after 500 metres, just before a private road, CRANLEIGH.Having passed the front of High Beeches,take the next left turning at the CRANLEIGH track, proceed up the bumpy track nearly to the top then take first left again by the new five bar wooden gate.

7. Turn right at Bishopsworth Rd - 0.1 mi
8. Turn left at Church Rd - 30 ft
9. Continue on Whitchurch Rd - 0.2 mi
10. Continue on Whitchurch Ln - 0.3 mi
11. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Hengrove Way - 0.5 mi
12. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A4174/Hengrove Way Continue to follow A4174 Go through 1 roundabout - 2.6 mi
13. Turn right at A4/Bath Road Brislington Hill Continue to follow A4 Go through 2 roundabouts - 6.1 mi
14. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Pennyquick - 1.1 mi
15. Continue on Whiteway Rd - 1.2 mi
16. Continue on Rush Hill - 0.3 mi
17. Slight right to stay on Rush Hill - 0.2 mi
18. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Frome Rd Go through 1 roundabout - 0.8 mi
19. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A3062/B3110/Midford Rd Continue to follow B3110/Midford Rd At the mini-roundabouts with Tesco Express/Esso Garage on your right turn left in to Midford Road continue on the B3110. After the Cross Keys pub, After about 400 meteres turn right at the CRANLEIGH track (ummade up track), then first left again by the gate marked CRANLEIGH FARM. We are 50 metres down the small lane on the left with blue garage door. This will bring you in to the back of the house where you will be greeted.

Directions back to High Beeches,156 Midford Road from Bath Spa Bus & Railway stations

Take Number 13 Bus from the new bus station located to the left of the railway station in Dorchester Street or by the weir at Pulteney Bridge near Argyle Street.
The bus will be marked Foxhill or Bear Flat on the front with number 13 on it.
The route will be up the Wells way,through Bear Flat then in to Midford Road. You will pass St Martins Hospital entrance then hit Tesco Express and Esso Garage on your right having gone over three min roundabouts. The bus will proceed down Midford road. After about 600 metres the bus will turn left in to Southstoke Road by the Cross Keys Pub where it will stop and let you get off. Please remember to ring the bell so the driver will stop.
Get off the bus and walk back up to Midford Road bearing left and walking down the road. You will pass a very grand looking mansion on your right & pass a bumpy potholed track called CRANLEIGH on your right with a reflector in the wall & two markers in the grass. Continue down Midford Road for another 100 metres and High Beeches at 156 Midford Road,will be on your right.Push open the front gate, walk through and up the gravel path to the front of the house and ring the door bell. If no reply walk through the side gate at the right of the house and up the path as we may be in the office.
